Andritz Automation provided engineering services for evaluation, procurement, detailed engineering, construction management and operator training associated with new instrumentation for better process management. The projects undertaken included:

• Andritz Automation's process analyzer specialists developed a prototype pre-flare stack total sulfur analysis system to quantify sulphur emissions in preparation for the new EPA regulations. This included a new sampling system and conditioners, a programmable logic controller and interface to the Distributed Control System (DCS).
• The replacement of their SO2 continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS) analyzer to maintain certification and improve monitoring with the use modern technology. This included a installation of replacement analyzer, a new sampling system, wiring and interface to the Distributed Control System (DCS).
• Two new product contamination detectors in the crude unit to monitor ppm crude in diesel and naptha. The analyzers utilize optical visible spectrum photometry.
• Shelter, piping and DCS interface design and installation for a three-stream chromatograph to monitor and maximize propane recovery.
